Writers Island -- Empowered

This week's Writers Island topic is
"empowered". Here's my poem:

Some days, you just
have to wear daisies
in your hair and not
care what others
think. And while
you're at it, roll
on your back in
cool, fragrant grass
with sweet abandon,
making friends with
the fleas. Leashes
and chains are simply
an illusion, a fence
to leap over.

What a great advice wasn't it for dogs. I am not keen on flees. This beautiful writing has an air of freedom. Simply love the picture

Oh he is sooo handsome -- what kind of dog is her, Clare? And your poem is lovely, just right for him!

Empowering words!

This is not necessarily about the dogs, this is about us.

The voice is endearingly inspiring.

I wish you well.

I love the poem as well as Moose's picture with daisies. He looks so cute - Lytton wants to say hi! So big hi to Moose!!

Awww! I think Moose is a kindred spirit. And I am patiently waiting for the daisies to arrive around here.

This is playful and profound, and a wonderful take on the prompt.

Great fun. But I'm getting to the age when I'd then have difficulty getting up :-)

I love it. I need to go get some daisies. Too bad it's dark right now.

How adorable... I wonder if I could pull off that look and the empowerment behind it? Grin. I think I may try the empowerment part.
