Writers Island -- Empowered

This week's Writers Island topic is
"empowered". Here's my poem:


Some days, you just
have to wear daisies
in your hair and not
care what others
think. And while
you're at it, roll
on your back in
cool, fragrant grass
with sweet abandon,
making friends with
the fleas. Leashes
and chains are simply
an illusion, a fence
to leap over.
