TAKING A BREAK

Since this past winter, I've been away from blogging
a lot. I've been out of town a huge amount, and each
time I go out of town, I get further and further behind
in blogland, plus all the other things that I'm involved
in. Last week, I returned from Israel and London. I
realized on the trip that I need to stop blogging for
awhile, and I'm not sure when I'll start again. Often,
I feel like the person in the circus who is spinning a
whole row of plates on sticks and needs to keep
running frantically to keep them all from crashing
to the floor. I can't keep doing this. And my spirit
has been deeply craving quiet time. Trying to come
up with poems every day or so was feeling like
homework, and my heart wasn't in it the way it was
when I first started my blog. And in writing about
human rights, I started feeling bad about pointing
fingers at other countries' failures when the U.S.
is messing up in so many ways too. So, it's like
what do I really want to write about? What do
I want to say? I don't have any answers. So I
want to be quiet for a while and study. I want
to read and learn. Feed my soul. Then I can
come back and have something to give, to share.
Everyone I've met since I began blogging has touched
my heart in so many ways, and you all feel like real
friends to me -- not just distant internet beings. I'm
hoping to stop by and say hi every now and then, when
I can, even while taking this break.

Lovely Clare & Adorable Moose,

Your writings are still here to read - and I hope we always stay in touch.

I'm glad you are home safely ... much peaceful relaxation and refreshing study.

Big hugs,
Kate & Lytton

Hi Clare! It’s great to here from you, and I do know what you mean! It’s so important to listen to ourselves and attend our needs. There is a time for just about everything, and going against this internal pace can be simply heartbreaking. You’re a lovely person and I’m glad for you doing what you think is best. Till next time, lots of peace and good wishes!

Something similar is why I'm not blogging and "making the rounds" much lately. If it feels forced, what's the point? I'm with you all the way. Let's take our time and re-connect with what we were blogging for. If it comes, we'll be here...

its ok not to have any answers; that is part of the 'set up" that there are no answers

your photos are quite moving and say a lot; perhaps you could have a text-less blog for a while and to speak in pictures

You know you more so that most people have infused your blog with who you are, and it's easy to see you're a special human being, what you've written here speaks to that very strongly. I hope you do come back, I'll be waiting......your open window poem is with me still. Hugs, J x

Good for you, for having the self-awareness to know what you really need and the courage and common sense to act on it. (((Hugs)))

Live your blog.

Missing you, but I completely understand the need for "refresh" time, especially when blogging feels "like homework." 'Tis the reason I often use poems from long before now. I live a life fully outside of blogland.

I wanted you to know that although I didn't know you long here, you made quite an impression of an interesting soul who loves animals and is much more of a person than that!

Hope all is well with you!
hugs,
Gel

Hi Clare! Miss you, send hello, tell me all is well if all is well.
Let me know how you are.

Hugs from one who cares a great deal about you.

Hi Claire,
Oh, I understand. Feeding our souls is most important and we all too often forget to nurture ourselves. I do think it's ironic that the last two times I've visited here when I returned was when you had just flown away to restore your creativity wings.

(I used to use the name "gel" and I have now moved my blog so the Emerald Eyes blog is defunct, but this link will be to my new one when you return. Best to you, my friend!)
